Video Duplication

*Price increase*

We recently reviewed our duplication pricing structure. It has been more than 15 years since we set the price for duplicating this type of item. After some research, we learned that we were substantially undercutting private businesses. This violates UA policy (BOR Policy 05.15 “Auxiliary Service Enterprises, Recharge Centers, and Self Funded Activities”, specifically P05.15.060 “Competition with Private Sector”) so we revised our prices accordingly. If you have a question or comment about this, please contact Suzanne Bishop, Development and Public Information Officer, at sbishop[at]alaska.edu. (3/21/17)

Bring your video and your video duplication request form to the Media Equipment desk located on the main floor of the Rasmuson Library.

We can duplicate

  • Video or audio that you have produced. This includes course/class videos, camcorder tapes and any programs for which you hold the copyright.
  • Video or audio for which you have express, written permission from the copyright holder to duplicate. A signed copy of this permission must be provided when the duplication request is made.

We cannot duplicate

  • Commercially produced VHS videos and DVDs. This includes movies and television programs, among others.
  • Programs that have been recorded from any broadcast source (i.e., movies, television shows, news programs, and cable/satellite programs).
  • Non-commercial audio or video if you are not the producer or copyright holder (i.e., demonstration tapes, corporate videos, music videos, etc.).
