Rasmuson Library Archives Has Reopened!

The Rasmuson Library Alaska & Polar Regions Collections and Archives department has reopened in its newly renovated space on level 2. The area required extensive work after a flood in 2017.

Assistant Archivists Becky Butler and Rose Speranza are still settling in but are available to help researchers. Research visits can be arranged by calling 907-474-2791 or emailing

“We appreciate all the concern and support our research community has shown over the closure period, and we think you’ll be pleased when you see the spruced-up research room,” said Karen Jensen, Director of Libraries.

The library will host an open house in October 2019, during National Archives Month.
