Bookplate Dedication

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Rasmuson Libraries are proud to present a new way to support your library! Our first Bookplate Dedication Program, set to launch November 10, 2010, allows donors to expand the library’s collection while honoring a loved one or a special event that is personally, professionally or academically significant. Imagine a graduation present of a much-needed book in the student’s course of studies, or a DVD in honor of an anniversary, or even an e-book commemorating a future Nanook’s birthday. These personalized dedications can be up to 100 words and will appear within the item and in the Library’s online catalog. Go to Bookplate Program.

"Books for the future and books to honor the past," is the motto of this new giving opportunity, and I hope you will consider joining us in this exciting new way to practice philanthropy and honor someone close to you.

Every day hundreds of students and faculty come to the library in search of a resource, an answer to a question, or a corroborating piece of evidence to support a hypothesis. As a library that serves the University of Alaska Fairbanks community, Alaska’s rural areas and the greater Fairbanks community, the Rasmuson Library works tirelessly to provide access to information so that the answers are waiting to be found, no matter who seeks them. The librarians are thoughtful and are always stretching their dollars, but the hard truth is that many times there simply aren’t enough dollars to provide up-to-date materials. By sponsoring a much-needed book, DVD or e-book, contributors help expand the resources available to library users all over the state.

Each gift is tax-deductible, and each message is personalized in a custom bookplate or digital catalog label. You can inspire student learning, honor a special person or event, all while building the offerings of the Rasmuson Libraries with your gift. Gift levels vary depending on the type of item you wish to support, as well as the number or resources you would like us to make available. You can honor a loved one through a single, customized bookplate with a gift of only $150!
