If a library item you want to check out is already checked out, you may place a hold or recall on the item by contacting the Circulation Desk, at (907) 474-6762, or emailing: email@example.com. Currently, the library cannot hold a book for you that is not checked out.
- A hold will reserve the item for you when it is returned.
- A recall will notify the current patron to return the item immediately because it has been requested by another patron.
- If an item is "long overdue," 8 weeks or more past the due date, the item may be borrowed on Interlibrary Loan.
Most items can be put on hold or recall. Once the item is returned, you will receive a notice -either by email or regular mail - that it is available for you; we will hold most items for 10 days from the date of that notice. Videos and DVDs will be held for only three days from the date you are notified. When you place a hold or recall, please make sure we have your current email address, mail address, and phone number, so that we can properly notify you when it is available. If you don't hear from us and are wondering about your hold/recall, please call us at (907) 474-6762 to check on the status of the item.
