See our Library Services Updates page for information about changes to Rasmuson Library Services.

UAF students, staff, and faculty can now enter the library to pick out or to return their own materials, accessing the library by PolarExpress card.

Public library patrons can again place holds on our materials through the public library's catalog. Items can be picked up at the Noel Wien Library or the North Pole Branch.

University patrons who are reluctant to enter the library can still check materials out by appointment. Set an appointment to pick up items.

Establish a Rasmuson Library Endowment

Your gift of $25,000 or more will allow us to establish a new endowment for the UAF Rasmuson Library which would bear your name or the name of someone you wish to honor.

Your endowment will be used according to your wishes or desire to benefit a specific subject area, collection or project. You may designate the endowment for a specific purpose such as purchasing Alaskan materials, or you may specify that the endowment be used at the Dean's discretion in the area most needed.

An endowment is a specially invested fund that provides financial support in perpetuity. Only a percentage of the interest income from an endowment is spent, thus preserving your gifts indefinitely. The principal remains forever intact, and is increased over time through the addition of a portion of the earned income.

For more information about establishing an endowment to benefit UAF Rasmuson Library, please contact Karen Jensen, Director, of Libraries (907)-474-6695 kljensen@alaska.edu.
